Welcome back to Preston Dental Center! We are so very excited to see you again in person in our office! While many things have changed since the Covid-19 quarantine began, one thing has remained the same. We are 100% devoted to our patients and our commitment to your continued good health and wellbeing has never been stronger. Your safety and comfort are always our priority and we appreciate the trust you have in us.
While our office was open only for emergency care during the Covid-19 quarantine, we were very busy behind the scenes developing safety protocols and adding layers of protection to minimize risk for our patients and our team. Most of these protocols were implemented during the quarantine closure to treat the emergency needs of our patients. Now, we feel it’s important to give you information on what to expect at your next visit with us.
MEDICAL GRADE HEPA FILTRATION UNITS AND UV LIGHT AIR SCRUBBERS
Some of our enhanced safety measures will be clearly visible to you while others work behind the scenes to remove bacteria and viruses from the air, we breath. We have added enhanced air filtration and air cleansing systems in our HVAC systems. This extra layer of air purification includes the use of special Ultraviolet Light Air Scrubbers and HEPA filters in our air ducts to trap bacteria and viruses as air cycles through our ventilation system.
INFECTION CONTROL has always been a top priority in our office, and we want to share with you some of the procedures we follow in our practice to minimize risk for our patients and our team. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The situation surrounding Covid-19 is fluid and we will continually update our procedures and adapt as changes occur.
CONCIERGE CURBSIDE CHECK IN SERVICE: For the foreseeable future, our reception area will remain closed to reduce the number of people in the office at any time and to provide for Social Distancing. We have implemented our new Curbside Check-in service. When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in the temperature-controlled comfort of your vehicle. Call or text us to let us know you have arrived. Once you are checked in, we will alert you when it is time to meet your assigned team member at the door. Your team member will be your concierge and will escort you to your treatment room. Prior to entering the office, we will take your temperature with a No-Touch Digital Forehead Scan Thermometer. During the hot summer months, it is important to stay cool in your air-conditioned vehicle to avoid overheating prior to obtaining your temperature as overheating can cause a false reading.
FACE COVERINGS: We kindly ask that all patients entering our office wear FACE COVERINGS at all times both outside of your treatment room and when entering and exiting our facility.
SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS: We have implemented a one-way traffic pattern in our hallways. One way into your treatment room and one way out to the front. Again, an effort to minimize your contact with other patients and social distance.
HAND SANITIZING STATIONS: We have instant hand sanitizer placed all throughout the office and you may be asked to sanitize your hands multiple times during your visit with us.
ORAL PRE-RINSE: You may be asked to pre-rinse in your treatment room with a peroxide or activated chlorine dioxide mouth rinse shown to reduce oral bacteria and viruses.
SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS: Once your treatment is completed, we ask your patience to wait for your concierge team member while we communicate with our administrative team via radio headsets. It is our goal to reduce the numbers of people in any one area at any given time as this will ensure social distancing for you during our check out process and safe exit from our office.
SANITIZED REST ROOMS During your visit, the patient restroom will be open to you. Common surfaces will be refreshed with disinfection wipes every 15 minutes. Please alert a team member if you need to use the restroom and we will escort you to and from your treatment room.
APPOINTMENT MODIFICATIONS: We have implemented several additional well-intentioned enhancements to each patient appointment.
PRESTON DENTAL CENTER COVID-19 QUIZ AND ONLINE WELLNESS FORM: We have a series of short prescreening questions to ask you prior to your appointment. Also, prior to your appointment, we will be calling you to confirm your appointment. It may be necessary to repeat some or all the questions at different times prior to your appointment because with time, circumstances change, and we are diligently trying to do our very best to minimize risk for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding of the need for us to be thorough and to repeat these questions as needed. Some common questions we may ask you include the following.
