Your first visit after choosing the Preston Dental Center for your dental services will involve a comprehensive exam and diagnosis of existing issues. At this appointment, which generally takes from one to one-and-a-half hours, we will review your medical and dental histories and discuss any concerns you may have. Our cosmetic dentists are here to make sure that you receive the best care possible. We will perform a thorough head and neck exam, including an examination of all of your soft tissues and an oral cancer screening. We will also take any x-rays needed for diagnosis and treatment. Finally, we will examine each tooth for decay or defective restorations.
Typically, a cleaning is not performed at this first visit. Experience has shown us that every patient’s needs are different and that we cannot anticipate what kind of cleaning a patient needs or how much time is required without completing a thorough examination first. Our cosmetic dentists believe that preventative care is vital to long-term dental health and that, for the sake of thoroughness, it should therefore be given all the time necessary.
You may discuss your options for any relatively simple treatments you need or desire with your dentist at this visit. If you have a condition that requires complex planning, an additional consultation, also called a review of findings, may be needed. There is no additional charge for this service.

Unless other arrangements have been made in advance, payment is due at the time of your appointment.
After treatment, we will send you monthly statements updating you on the status of your account. If you have filed a claim with your insurance company, you can expect a response within four to six weeks. Please contact our office if your statement does not reflect your insurance payment within that time frame. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid its share is your responsibility, and your prompt payment is appreciated.
